Sepsis is third-leading cause of maternal mortality. You need to know how to identify women with sepsis and how to implement the Surviving Sepsis Campaign 3- and 6 hour bundles.
AWHONN recommends that you take the Noninvasive Hemodynamic Function and Assessment course as a foundation for this course.
At the conclusion of the activity, learners will be able to:
- Distinguish between the definitions of sepsis and septic shock published
- Identify three risk factors for sepsis
- Recognize markers for sepsis in the obstetric woman versus general population
- List the care elements in the Hour-1 bundle.
2.5 hours (CNE available through 12/31/2020)
