This session explores the leading clinical and system-level risks in obstetric care and highlights how bedside nurses play a critical role in identifying early warning signs, preventing harm, and strengthening unit readiness for obstetric emergencies. The focus will be on understanding the most significant areas of obstetric risk and on strategies nurses can implement to strengthen system safety, support timely escalation, and reduce preventable maternal morbidity and mortality
