8:00 - 12:00: Antepartum Perspectives: Electronic Fetal Monitoring and High-Risk Patients
Antepartum care is a rapidly changing specialty due to the increasing complexity of pregnancy-related complications and improved technology that makes the fetus more accessible. This session is designed to update clinical knowledge and electronic fetal monitoring in the outpatient and inpatient high-risk clinical environment. Timely and comprehensive information will be presented so clinicians are better prepared to provide adequate care to this special patient population.

13:00 - 17:00: Perinatal Care and Liability: Persistent Issues, Practical Answers
Malpractice refers to professional negligence that may lead to substandard treatment, resulting in harm or injury to a patient. The consequences can be devastating for both the patients and the healthcare team involved. This session will focus on understanding basic legal concepts, common allegations in the obstetric and neonatal setting, and the fundamentals of documentation that promote patient safety, continuity of care, and effective clinical decision-making.
