Working harder but not smarter? Are you constantly feeling overwhelmed with both work and home? Has the COVID crisis affected your mental health? Do you feel you are giving “all” to your patients and there isn’t enough time for you? This presentation shares the personal journey of Kandy Duns’ experience with burn-out and compassion fatigue, including mitigating factors, physical and mental health symptoms. Most importantly, it shares her road to recovery. We need to learn to care for ourselves in the way we care for others. Join us in this mini event to learn how to take those first steps.

  1. Identify negative impacts from burnout and compassion fatigue on self, patients, and the organization.6.
  2. Discuss ways to prevent and/or recover from burnout and compassion fatigue.
  3. Describe at least 2 positive influences of self-care and self-compassion for prevention and/or recovery from burnout & compassion fatigue
