Beyond the Bedside: Maternal Health Policy and Advocacy for Nurses presented by Gina Herron, MSN, RNC-OB
This event is a virtual continuing education opportunity for perinatal nurses in the state of Indiana in collaboration with the AWHONN Indiana Section as part of a DNP scholarly project. The focus of the education is maternal health policy and advocacy.
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Discuss current issues related to maternal health in Indiana.
- Explain advocacy beyond the bedside for nurses and how it can lead to improved maternal healthcare.
- Demonstrate how nurses are well-equipped to be successful health policy advocates.
- Identify maternal health policy and advocacy opportunities for nurses.

Participants will earn 1.0 contact hours for attendance at the entire event and submission of the pre/post surveys.
