Obstetric Patient Safety: OB Emergencies Workshop Virtual Instructor Candidate Training

AWHONN is thrilled to announce the opening of the Obstetric Patient Safety (OPS): OB Emergencies Workshop Virtual Instructor Candidate Training. Join the OPS program and bring OPS: OB Emergencies Workshop Instructors to your area to teach nurses and providers to use multidisciplinary simulation training to identify, assess, and manage the care for women with specific obstetric emergencies such as hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, postpartum hemorrhage, and maternal sepsis.
The OPS: OB Emergencies Workshop content also meets the Joint Commission requirements for PC 06.01.01 Reduce the likelihood of harm related to maternal hemorrhage and PC.06.03.01 Reduce the likelihood of harm related to maternal severe hypertension/preeclampsia.

Seating is limited to 25 participants per virtual training.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify to be an OPS: OB Emergencies Workshop Instructor Candidate, the applicant must meet the following criteria:
· Must be an AWHONN Member (Full Member).
· Must be certified in Inpatient OB (RNC-OB®) or Maternal Newborn Nursing (RNC-MNN®) through the National Credentialing Center (NCC).
· Must have experience in facilitating simulations or drills (e.g., NRP instructor, hospital/unit-based simulations/drills).
Cost: $100 Applicants accepted will receive a separate email with directions for registration and payment for one of eight OPS: OB Emergencies Workshop Virtual Instructor Candidate Trainings listed below.
Application Process
· Attend the OPS: OB Emergencies Workshop (Can be completed before or after completion of the OPS: OB Emergencies Workshop Virtual Instructor Candidate Training).
· Complete the application on this webpage. The application process includes uploading a current CV or resume.
· Attend the OPS: OB Emergencies Workshop Virtual Instructor Candidate Training. You only need to attend one virtual training.
· Complete an OPS: OB Emergencies Workshop teach-back under the observation of an OPS: OB Emergencies Workshop Designated Instructor or Instructor Trainer within one year of completing the Virtual Instructor Candidate Training.
Applications will be available starting on November 1, 2021. The deadline for applications is December 1, 2021 at 12:00pm EST. Applicants will be notified of selection decision by December 15, 2021.
