Social Determinants of Health and What to Ask
AWHONN is committed to reversing the current Maternal Mortality Crisis and reducing healthcare disparities for Black, Indigenous and People of Color. California Chapter leaders, Katrina Johnson of The LA Valley AWHONN Chapter and Becca Licha of the Santa Barbara & Ventura Counties AWHONN Chapter invite you to an ongoing series of meetings, focused on addressing implicit bias in healthcare. In our next meeting, we will look at how social determinants of health impact the patients and families before and after their hospital stay, including racial disparities in access. Videos and live discussion will model and explore how to ask the right questions to provide the best care for our patients. We welcome members from any AWHONN chapter, as well as nonmembers. Meeting starts at 7PM Pacific time. Please bring an open mind and a desire for honest, meaningful conversation.
