The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, passed into law in 2022 with AWHONN’s support, gives workers nationwide a right to receive accommodations for pregnancy, childbirth, and related medical conditions, including infertility, pregnancy loss and termination, and lactation. The Equal Employment Opportunities Commission has recently released a rule to implement that law. Available accommodation includes time off for medical care, rest breaks, limits on hazardous working conditions, job modifications to reduce pain, leave to recover from childbirth, and more. AWHONN presents this webinar to educate perinatal nurses about the law and the workplace rights pregnant and postpartum women have so they can advise their patients.
